Parents do so many things to ensure their baby's health both during pregnancy and infancy. During pregnancy mothers make sure to eat right, avoid cigarettes, avoid alcohol, and all drugs. Then when the baby is born parents learn the best nutrition, healthy habits and routines. They do everything to make sure their baby is healthy as possible.
But have they had their baby’s spine checked? Why do they need their spine checked? Well the spine houses the pathway for communication between the brain and the whole body. If one of the bones in your spine (vertebrae) has misaligned, it can cause interference in the nerve signals to a particular tissue or organ in the body. This is called a subluxation. That means that the tissue or organ is not able to get signals back and forth from the brain and then is not able to work properly.
How does this happen?
Subluxations can occur as early as labor. Think of all the stress and force on a baby being delivered, it can be especially traumatic if it was a difficult delivery. Also during the first two years of life many babies are learning to hold their head up, roll over, crawl and walk. We all know children bump into things and fall a lot; it can be a physical time. No one is more qualified at detecting and correcting spinal misalignments than a Doctor of Chiropractic. Through chiropractic care infants are better able to develop and grow to their full potential free of many infant illnesses and health problems. Some example health problems are colic, ear infections, colds, constipation, slow physical or mental development, and crawling or walking problems.
